The Amway Scam

It’s hard to imagine that an entire corporation could be based off a scam, but that’s exactly the case for Amway and Quixtar. This article will detail exactly how Amway and Quixtar work, and why it is a scam you should avoid. Because Amway and Quixtar are the same company, I’ll just be using the name Amway from now on.

Like many scams, the Amway scam is based off people’s urge to be rich, drive a nice car, and live in a big house. People often want to live that lifestyle so badly that they will do anything and believe anything in order to achieve that goal. This is where Amway steps in. The main idea is that you become a salesperson and sell Amway products, such as vitamins, electronics, and various other goods. Of course, you won’t get rich selling knifes door to door, but that’s where the twist comes in. The idea is that the more people you recruit into Amway, the more money you’ll make because you’ll get a percentage of their earnings. If the people you recruit, recruit more people in turn, you’ll get a percentage of that, and so on. So the main idea is to recruit as many people as possible, and have an automatic stream of revenue. Does this sound like a pyramid scam to you? Well, it basically is. Technically, it’s labeled as multi-level-marketing, which is nothing more than a legal pyramid scam.

So where is the harm? So far, everything sounds legitimate, and harmless. That’s exactly what they want you to think. The fact of the matter is that once you’re recruited, Amway starts selling things to YOU. That’s right, anything from motivational tapes, to motivational books, to tickets for conventions and rallies, and even entire bus trips to rallies. Through a series of talks, basic brainwashing techniques are used in order to convince you that you will succeed and become a millionaire, but only if you buy motivational tapes which hold the key to your success. In fact, it is commonly said that Amway rallies resemble religious revival meetings more than anything else. Now, I’m not trying to knock on religious revival meetings, but Amway preys on your desperation, and preys on your dreams. They tell people over and over that they will become rich if they follow the Amway business plan. Unfortunately, virtually the only people making any sort of significant money are the people selling motivational tools at the rallies and so forth. According to Amway itself, the average amount of money people make at Amway is a measly $1,400 a year. This doesn’t include all the money for meetings, rallies, travel, books, tapes, and everything else. When all is said and done, most people actually lose their money, friends, and a huge amount of time.

Adsense vs. Associated Content

Making money online can be fun and rewarding, but it can also be very hard work! You’ve likely seen many sites promising to make you rich quick by taking surveys or writing articles, but there is much more to the story. This article is going to be about making money with Adsense versus making money with Associated Content.

Using Adsense to make money

Adsense is Google’s advertising program. You can place Adsense banners and advertisements on your website. When people view the advertisements you can get a very small fraction of a penny. When people click on an advertisement, you get anywhere form a couple cents to perhaps a dollar. Yes, there are advertisements that pay even more, but they are very uncommon.

Pros of Adsense

  • Can be very profitable if you get a lot of traffic to your website
  • Dynamically adapts to the content of your web pages, which increases advertising relevance
  • Owned by a major company that is not going to go bankrupt any time soon

Disadvantages of Adsense

  • You must own your own website. Typically, these can cost money to operate
  • Payout starts at $100

If you’re trying to make money online, Adsense only makes sense if you’re planning on having a website which gets at least 10 unique hits a day. If you can’t get this many hits a day, not only will you probably lose money just by operating the web server, but it could take you a very long time to accumulate a hundred dollars, which is the minimum payout. So you should really only use Adsense if you’re prepared to spend some serious time to build a quality website.

Using Associated Content to make money

Associated Content is an interesting website where you can make money simply by writing articles. Not only do they pay you up to a couple dollars for each article you write upfront, but they also pay you $1.50 for every thousand views you get. There is no risk in using Associated Content, and there are no fees or expenses.

Pros of Associated Content

  • You are paid for each article you write, generally in about two weeks after submission.
  • The payout for Associated Content is only a $1.50, which means you’ll get paid much sooner than Adsense
  • There is no risk. There are no operating fees.

Cons of Associated Content

  • Associated Content only pays $1.50 for every thousand views. This is much lower than what you can make with Adsense or other advertising programs

Using Associated Content (AC) to make money certainly makes sense if you only plan to write a small number of articles that probably won’t get too many hits. For example, I wrote an article for AC and received $3.77 upfront. Unfortunately, the article has been online for several months and has had less than 20 views! So if you don’t expect your articles to receive a lot of traffic, then it certainly makes sense to use AC to make money.

The Verdict

If you don’t expect your articles to receive a lot of traffic, or if you don’t want to spend an enormous time building and managing your website, then it’s best to use Associated Content. Otherwise, Adsense is a much more effective way for you to earn money. However, you must be prepared to work in order to generate traffic to your website; otherwise you may never hit the minimum payout with Adsense. If you have a website, but you plan on writing some articles which may not receive many hits, it might be wise just to place those articles on Associated Content. I use both my website and Associated Content in order to make the maximum amount of money on the internet.

Download Jeff Paul’s Websites on Rapidshare

You’ve likely seen Jeff Paul’s infomercial about how you can make internet millions with his money making system. You’ve seen the testimonials and the two incredibly hot girls in bikinis hosting his infomercial. But what if you want to try Jeff Paul’s money making system for free, without paying any money at all? Well, you’re in luck, because I’m going to save you more time and money than you can imagine. First, I’m sorry to say that it’s not possible to download Jeff Paul’s money making websites on Rapidshare, Megaupload, or any other file sharing service. The reason for this is that Jeff Paul’s money making websites don’t exist. That’s right, you heard me. Jeff Paul’s shortcuts to internet millions is a scam, plain and simple. But wait, in the infomercial, Jeff Paul says for a little money you can get 10 free websites, right? Well, wrong. Like I said before, Jeff Paul’s shortcuts is a complete scam, and the commercial is full of flat out lies. I’m going to save you some serious time and money by telling you to just walk away, it isn’t worth it. For $50 or so, you get a package with some vague information about how to make money on the internet, but you don’t get any websites as promised. Then, for thousands of dollars, they try to upsell you their internet website packages. These websites need to run on their servers, and they charge you absurd amounts of money for it. Remember in the infomercial when Jeff Paul said you’ll get new money making websites every month for free? Well, that simply isn’t true. You’ll be charged hundreds of dollars. Once Jeff Paul has your credit card number, he will never, ever stop charging you every month. It is not possible to cancel Jeff Paul’s program. The only way to have the payments stop is to cancel your credit card. Sure there are plenty of people who make money on the internet, but not with kits like Jeff Paul. Keep searching, and eventually you’ll find a genuine opportunity.

Jeff Paul’s Shortcuts to Internet Millions, a full review

If you’re reading this, chances are good that you’ve already seen Jeff Paul’s infomercial detailing his shortcuts to internet millions. If you haven’t seen it, just imagine two girls in bikinis interviewing people who claim to have made millions with Jeff Paul’s system.

The truth

The truth of the matter is that Jeff Paul’s Shortcuts to Internet Millions is a scam, plain and simple. You really shouldn’t believe anything you hear from the infomercial because the information is factually incorrect. Jeff Paul’s scam is fairly simple. Once you pay $50 for your package and shipping, you will quickly realize that the pamphlets sent to you contain useless information. No, you don’t get 10 free self-running websites as promised, nor do you get any method of generating any income whatsoever. The girls in the infomercial lied to you. At this point, they attempt to upsell you. They say that if you really want their self-running website kits, you have to pay thousands of dollars upfront. Not only that, but they can charge up to several hundred dollars a month, every month, just to run your websites.

The natural question is if these websites actually work, and generate real revenue. The answer is not really. The chances of you ever being able to make a penny from any of the websites they give you are probably less than one in a thousand. If you think you can beat those odds, then you should really be in a casino.

One interesting thing about Jeff Paul’s scam is that if you decide to cancel, that’s too bad for you. It is impossible to cancel your plan. You will not be able to receive any response via email, phone, fax, or mail. THE ONLY WAY TO CANCEL THE PROGRAM IS TO CANCEL YOUR CREDIT CARD. Jeff Paul is a really classy guy, I’m sure.

How to get traffic with StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon is one of the most widely used social networking tools on the internet today, and for good reason. StumbleUpon gives people the ability to rate and discover websites, including your website! If used correctly, StumbleUpon can be a great way to generate high quality traffic to your website. This article will explain techniques which can be successfully used to generate high quality repeat traffic.

The goal is to get repeat, targeted traffic

If you create a free account with StumbleUpon, then immediately give a thumb up to your own site, you can expect to get a few hits initially, and then you will never get any hits again! The reasons for this are technical, and have to do with how StumbleUpon’s algorithm was developed. This brings us to the first rule.

Rule #1: The longer you have been with StumbleUpon, the more hits you will get.

The people who developed StumbleUpon are smart. They realize it’s all too easy for someone to create a new account, give a thumb up to their own website, then create another account, and so on. For this reason, each user has a different ‘weight’. This is a term which is often used in many computer algorithms. Basically, people with more weight attached to their account have a greater influence on the algorithm.

How to improve your weight

There are a couple ways to improve your weight. The first and easiest way is to simply use StumbleUpon. Actively use StumbleUpon to visit and rate all sorts of websites. Discover new websites, and write reviews. The more websites you rate, the greater your weight. The more reviews you rate, the greater your weight. The more websites you discover, the greater your weight. The more friends you have on StumbleUpon, the greater your weight. The longer you have been using StumbleUpon, the greater your weight. Basically, this prevents people from opening 100 ghost accounts and give 100 thumbs up to their website. Instead, it is better to simply relax, use one account, and over time the weight attached to your account will be greater.

Rule #2: Build up your weight before rating your website

If you’re new to StumbleUpon, it’s best to wait for a while before rating your site. Use StumbleUpon for at least a couple days before giving yourself a rating. When a user rates a website, the weight of the rating is equal to the user’s weight at the time of the rating. This means you should build up your weight before giving yourself a review if you want more traffic.

Rule #3: Give thumbs up to websites which are similar to yours

StumbleUpon uses a fairly standard clustering algorithm. Basically, when someone clicks on the stumble button, the algorithm looks at all the websites that user has rated, compares that user to a database with all user ratings, and uses that information to determine which sites the user is going to like. Sure, people can set up which topics they are interested in, but the clustering algorithm is what really determines which websites they will StumbleUpon next. In short, if you rate websites which are similar to yours, you are much more likely to receive relevant traffic.

Rule #4: Get other people to give a thumb up to your website.

This rule is pretty simple. The more people who give your website a thumb up, the more traffic you will receive. Even if you have an account with a high weight, that doesn’t compare to the sum of a hundred other people who could potentially give your website a thumb up. Put a stumble button on your website, ask people to click it, do whatever it takes! Another excellent way to get ratings from other people is to simply make an excellent website!

Rule #5: Get your tags right!

When the time finally comes when you want to give your own website a thumb up, you will need to write a review on your website. Be sure to choose your tags and keywords carefully to closely match whatever type of website you have.

That’s basically it! If you actively use your Stumble account, actively rate other similar websites, and encourage other people to rate your website positively, you are well on your way to generating high quality, repeat traffic!

Checklist before trying to make big money online

Making money online is fairly easy, but making decent money online is much more difficult. By decent money, I’m talking about whatever amount of money it takes to significantly improve your life. An extra twenty dollars a year is one thing, but an extra thousand dollars a year is quite another. If you are determined to make big money online, look over this checklist before you waste your time, and possibly even your money.

1) Stay focused, and be patient

Making good money online does not happen overnight. In fact, it can take many weeks, month, or sometimes even years before you start to pull in a sizeable income from whatever online venture you’re participating in. You need to stay focused, be determined, and be prepared to spend a lot of time producing high quality material that other people will want to read, view, or buy. You need to be prepared to spend a lot of time in your online venture over several months, or even years.

2) Size up your competition

Like all things in life, the internet is one giant competition. People are competing for more traffic, more money, more everything. If you want to make a website which has jokes and comics which you make, you need to make sure you can produce enough high quality content to draw traffic to your site. Likewise, if you produce articles, you need to make sure you have time to produce many, high quality articles to draw traffic to your site. After looking at your competition, if you think you have what it takes, go for it!

3) Have some serious time to dedicate

If you want to make big money online, you need to dedicate some serious time. You won’t make big money by taking a survey occasionally, and you won’t make big money writing for other peoples sites…usually. The most common way to make money online is to create your own website. The more traffic you get, the more income you get. Traffic is the name of the game, and you have to be prepared to dedicate some serious time to build up traffic to your website.

4) Have some type of technical experience beforehand

Running your own website is much more complicated than checking your email. Lots of people have websites, so it certainly isn’t rocket science. But you should at least have all your basic computing skills down before trying to start a website for yourself. Technical experience with computers and the internet will also help you build more traffic and faster.

5) Be prepared to risk a little

Everything in life is a risk, and having your own website is no exception. In order to generate good money, free web hosting services are not a very good choice. You will need to pay to register a domain name, and you will also probably have to pay for a website hosting service. These aren’t much, perhaps only 80 dollars a year total. Still, you need to be prepared to risk a little money and risk wasting your time if you want to try to make big money online. In online ventures and life in general, there are very few rewards to be had without any risk.

The Easiest Ways to Make Money with Associated Content

Associated Content is a website which pays you for any content you produce. This includes everything from articles and videos, and whatever sort of content you can think of. This blog is about saving money, more specifically, pennies. When I say pennies, I mean it. Associated content lets you write about any topic you want, and they generally pay anywhere from a dollar to five dollars for each 500 word article you write. In addition to this, you are paid $1.50 for every thousand people who view an article you wrote.

So how are you going to get rich writing for Associated Content by making one dollar at a time? You aren’t. But just because you can’t make a million dollars doesn’t mean you can’t make 100 dollars without too much effort. Here are some tips to help you get started.

Don’t write articles giving your opinion on something

Opinion articles are not eligible for upfront payment, and generally, you aren’t going to have thousands of people who want to read your opinions about anything. So if you want to write an opinion piece, you will get no upfront payment, and probably less than 25 cents per year. This is not walking around money.

Don’t write locations specific articles

Don’t write articles about nearby state parks, malls, museums or anything else location specific. Depending on what you’re writing about, the upfront payment can be quite good, even over four dollars. But because you’re writing about something location specific, the traffic to these articles is going to be next to nothing. You will earn upfront payment, and probably less than 25 cents per year. Your goal should be total revenue over the long term, not immediate upfront payment.

Niche articles tend to receive good traffic

You may not get millions of views, but if you write about something specific, and something that isn’t written about very much but people are interested in the subject, you may be able to make some good money with these articles. The tighter the niche, the less competition you will have for traffic, but the less people in general will be interested in your subject. This is a delicate balance that you must find yourself.

Write articles everyone will be interested about

Articles many people are interested in have the potential to receive great traffic. Many articles can get a million views, which actually translates to some good walking around money. The problem is that you are sure to face competition often, so you may need to try, try again. Typically, if you write content which is very similar to other content, you will receive less traffic, and less upfront payment. So the best thing you can do is include original ideas and information for viewers.

Don’t write just one article

I’ve written about ten articles for Associated Content, and many of them are for completely different subjects. Some of the articles I submitted without the request for upfront payment, just so the articles can be published sooner. The sooner your articles are published, the sooner you can receive information about how many people are viewing each type of article. This will give you an excellent bearing as to what types of articles and writing styles are bound to make you money, and which topics you should never waste your time writing about again…at least on Associated Content. So write plenty of articles to guarantee you will receive more automatic revenue.

Protect yourself in a bear market

If you have any money saved for retirement, many people will tell you that the best thing you could possibly do is invest the money in a well diversified portfolio. This is certainly true in a bull market. Unfortunately, the market isn’t always bull. Currently, the market is a bear market, which means that the vast majority of stocks are falling in value. In fact, if you have money invested in stocks right now, your chances of losing money are as high as 95%. That’s right, you read that correctly. In a bear market, for every one stock that makes money, there can be as many as 19 stocks which fall in value.

You have a choice to make. Do you want to make a guess and see if you get lucky, or do want to protect your money until the bear market is over? If you guess wrong in a bear market, this could quickly and easily cost you many thousands of dollars. The smarter choice is to protect your money until the bear market is over. One of the best ways to do this is to buy a short term certificate of deposit, or CD. The concept is very simple. The idea is that you can loan some money to a bank, and the bank will pay you a guaranteed rate of return. These rates can be as high as 3.5% APR, which is fantastic. You can arrange a CD for a couple months, or even years. Generally, the longer you term for your CD, the higher rate of return you will get. If you’re just looking to keep up with inflation during a bear market, you probably only want to make a 6 month or 1 year CD. This way, if the market reverses, you don’t have to wait very long before you can start reinvesting your money.

There are a couple things to be aware of before making a CD. First and foremost, the length of your CD is set at the very beginning. If you withdraw your money early, there are often extra fines and penalties. This actually makes sense. How would you feel if your car loan bank wanted all of its money before the contracted date? So be sure you can part with your money for the entire length of time.

In summary, the best way to protect your money during a bear market is to make a CD. The rate is guaranteed, and can sometimes keep up with inflation. It’s best not to make your CD too lengthy, and it’s a good idea to shop around for the banks with the highest interest rates. Once the bear market is over, you can go about your normal investing strategy and make some money!

Which survey websites to avoid

Believe it or not, there are legitimate companies on the internet which pay you small amounts of money to take surveys. The idea is that companies which do market research for their products pay online survey companies, which in turn, pay you. Unfortunately, some of these ‘survey for pay’ sites are not legitimate. The list of online survey sites is practically endless, so I’ll lie down some ground rules and signs you should look out for.

Ground rule #1: Do not participate in survey sites which use some sort of reward point system. An example company that does this is Harris Polls. These survey sites are little more than a scam, and no matter what you do, your chances of ever being paid are slim to none. These sites often have a list of potential rewards which you can purchase with your reward points. Unfortunately, these rewards are useless junk. So the best thing you could possibly do is not participate in any site which operates solely on reward points. Don’t fill out even one survey, and don’t bother to look at the rewards, it’ll just be a waste of your time. Harris Polls offers some decent rewards for an insane amount of points, but unfortunately, by the time you could ever possibly get that many points, your reward points will have expired. There is no way to win!

Ground rule #2: Do not, under any circumstance, pay any money to participate in any surveys. Yes, it’s true. Some websites force you to pay money for the privilege of taking surveys! Needless to say, these are scams. Some websites offer to sell you lists of survey sites, so you don’t have to go around looking. This may seem like a convenience, but in reality, you can expect most of the links to be broken. Honestly, there are enough free websites that list potential pay survey sites.

Ground rule #3: If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Some survey sites promise that you can earn tens of thousands of dollars a year, or 50 dollars or more an hour. These websites are usually scams in which it is impossible to ever actually get your money. If you see unrealistic claims, walk away. In my experience, earning 10 dollars an hour can be difficult.

Ground rule #4: If you find a legitimate site, you should be monitor how long it takes you to complete surveys, and hoe much you’re actually being paid. If you’re looking to make walking around money, you need to make sure you’re actually being paid a decent amount. If you’re earning less than 5 dollars an hour, then you should evaluate whether or not it’s really worth the time and effort. If you’re just looking to make a couple quick bucks every now and then, I’d suggest taking a survey during television commercials, or some other time in your daily life when you aren’t doing anything useful.

Writing articles, an easy way to make a couple dollars

Most of us have some sort of downtime in our lives. Whether your watching TV and commercials come on, or you’re waiting for a cake to bake, there’s always a time when you’re not busy doing anything. These are the moments when, if you’d like, you could make a quick buck or two online!

There are actually a couple ways to make some easy dollars online, but this article will be talking about writing content for Associated Content. We all have unique experiences and knowledge, and if you’d like to share that knowledge with the world, Associated Content is the best website to do it on. It’s actually pretty simple. If you write a 500 word article, you’ll be able to get an upfront payment of $1.50, plus a couple pennies for every thousand people who view your website. You can also submit videos, sideshows, and pretty much any other type of content. You may write about whatever topic interests you! That’s what I think is really great about AC. You can write an article once, and if it’s popular, you will continue to earn a small amount of revenue long after you write it! If your content has generated enough views, you will begin to receive $3.00 per article. There are plenty of websites offering to pay you to take surveys, but once you take the survey, that’s it. Instead, if you have interesting content to share with the world, you might be able to pull in some extra revenue for no additional work! Now remember, it’s probably not worth your time to go write article after article for the AC trying to make big money simply because $1.50 for a 500 word article isn’t very much. Instead, try to do it during downtime in your ever day life. For example, if you’re watching a television show and commercials come on, why not spend three or four minutes working on an article? Before you know it, you can make a couple easy dollars, and avoid having to waste your time watching commercials!

Just a quick note before wrapping up this article; Some people claim that they can make a living just by posting content to Associated Content. Frankly, you’d have to type very fast, and have a lot of page views before even making minimum wage. So if you read articles claiming that you can make a full time living with this, it’s best just to ignore it. Click here to sign up for a free account at Associated Content!
